80 300SD transmission ratios

Okay I searched. What are the ratios of the 4 gears in the 80 300SD auto transmission? The owner says it starts in second unless the full throttle switch is depressed, is that right? He says 4th might be overdrive, is that right? Is that a torque converter or a fluid clutch behind the flexplate? I can't drive the car, the bolts broke the flange off the back driveshaft coupling.

jo, in a 722.3 tranny 1=3.68-1,2=241-1,3=1.44-1,4=1-1,look on the passenger side of the tranny,just above the oil pan parting surface,you will see 722.3xx where as the higher xx number the better ,this will represent the torque intended for the tranny,(dont know the units of measurements but like a 98 as the last two digits was used in the 560 sl-slc. diesel trannys are usually on the high side.
