Is it leather?
Greetings,
I have a 1984 190d, in excellent condition, and I was wondering if the blue seats are leather, or some other material? Thanks for reading the thread. Hugh Sr. |
does it smell like leather?
most of the time its MBTex which does look like leather in some cases but lasts and wears a lot better than leather |
|
If it has cracks, it's leather.
|
Not many 190D's with leather. That was kinda the Po-Boy model.
Probably MB-Tex. |
If the ribs in the seat run all of the way to the front, and all of the way to the top of the backrest, it's MB-Tex (vinyl). If there is a smooth panel at the top of the backrest and across the front of the seat cushion, it's leather. Leather is extremely uncommon in a diesel 190.

VIN #'s
While many thanks to sixto for the info, has anyone else sent their vin's half way round the world without concern?
|
I don't see the concern. Anyone can copy your VIN from the windshield tag at any time, ... not like a SS#.
I've sent every one I consider buying to the RU site and Carfax. |
you should be able to get a datacard through EPC too, if you don't trust the russian site
|
Thanks!
I guess that I've been around this world too long to trust easily.
|
If it still looks like new it's probably not leather
|
Unless it's an uncannily accurate random option list generator, the information is already in their database. What's the risk in attaching an IP to a VIN?
The greater risk is spyware and adware that site puts on your PC. Sixto 87 300D |
