Actros,

You are "speaking","Tongue in Cheek"? (If not look at some of the Y'Tube's of
BMW's 335D or the MB Maclaren)
What i am saying is, We dont get economical Mercedes, Audi or BMW cars is because no one is going to pay 30K+ for a car that has under 200 HP There are many cars that they can buy that has good MPG that has at least above 200 HP for fraction of the pirce.... U.S. is all about performace not SLOWNESS...

Yep, European Delivery, they've been doing it for decades.

I think that will change if they can offer competitively prices cars that are economical and "green". The ability to balance some performance with fuel efficiency may very well become a big thing in the US. We are, after all, a want it all society, and now we want economy on top of power and bling. I suspect MB has been paying attention to the US market.

Sign of the times, I guess - but I'm accustomed to driving MB diesels with ~120 hp and am fine with that, especially in the 190D. 170hp/295 lb-ft would surely feel like a rocket to me.

Have you ever ridden in an A or C class CDI?

I bet it performs as well as the current c-class motors/drivetrain offered in the US. Nearly 300 lbft of torque. Don't be surprised to see it here in a year or two.

That's why they really need to market the torque figures, not the horsepower..granted most people have no idea what torque means, but with all these Japanese cars running around with low torque figures...ugh.

Yes

BUT,They (Mercedes Benz) have to have the vehicle "On Offer" / already being
imported into the United States.

Otherwise, you'd see Ml+Gl s rompling around over here with the V-8 ,4.0 Liter CDI,Twin Turbo,Quad Cam diesels that are available in Europe.
AND you'd be able to get a Glendewagon with the same Monster Diesel Engine!!!

Thats fine because its part of their market range.

I'd be laughing if they wanted to bring over the W12 or V10TDI Phaeton.

Funny how the "R Class" is spelled PACIFICA

I agree that while this new C class is cool, it will devalue the MB brand. MB should create a new brand to market cars that are bigger than SMART but cheaper than the C class. I would love seeing the taxi models come over here. Maybe call it Daimler-Benz

Funny.... Actually, that would be wrong. The R-Class and Pacifica share nothing in common other than the fact that they are crossovers. The Pacifica is FWD, and based off the Dodge Caravan Platform. The R-Class is based on the W164 ML, and is AWD.

Come on, that Ford-like would be FIAT or OPEL. Mercedes is still Mercedes, no matter if in Germany or US.
