need vacuum diagram for 85 300TD

There are some things on this that I have not
seen on any of my other Turbo "D's" and I cannot
seem to find a TD specific diagram in the archives.

I assume, and hope for JimmyL's sake, that your TD is a wagon, and not a Turbo Diesel. If not watch out, us wagon owners are sensitive about the TD term. We wear that badge proudly and don't like it when others try to use it.:D

Other than the location of the door lock vacuum reservior, there is nothing different vacuum wise on a wagon than on a sedan. Though there seem to be a thousand different versions of vac systems out there.

Where have you been all week:rolleyes::D. YES it is my new
$100. wagon

There is some kind of a pancake looking thing on the
Drivers fender well between top of well and fire wall.
there is a connection there that has nothing connected
to it. I have not seen this part on any of my other turbos.

There are vacuum diagrams in the sticky above.

Look under the chassis section for wagon stuff. I'm guessing the rest of the vacuum system is the same as the sedan so you'd just look at the 1985 diagram. Maybe your "pancake" is #123 in that diagram?

Biodiesel300TD 01-27-2009 12:45 AM

Wagon verses sedan vac diagrams aren't going to be any different. Like I stated before the only difference is the location of the door lock res. The hose routing in the back to the hatch and res. I guess will be different as well. You need to look through all the 1985 123 chassis vac diagrams. There may not be a diagram of what you have. Also maybe post a pic of the part in question. Someone may be able to tell you what it is, as I can't think of what it would be.

I forget the technical name for the blue flapjack thing, (vacuum transducer)???? but it affects your automatic trans shifting. In essence, it fools the transmission into thinking there is sufficent vacuum. Alan

I wear the homemade grille badge on my 300D proudly, it's made from an old Budweiser can. It's time to upgrade the badge, possibly from a bottle of Warsteiner. Alan

That's it, The vacuum line is also off that goes to the
trans. Would that have anything to do with the slow
engagement of the trans?

jt20 01-27-2009 08:05 PM

opposite.

With no vacuum to the trans. it should shifting briskly.

Perhaps your Bowden cable is too loose?

if not.. it is most likely internal... springs, bands etc..
