what is going on with this ebay listing?????

this is the third time this car has been listed and I believe it sold last time for about 6900 USD ......so I assume a fake auction

The auction is real, the bidding is not.
Many people have a false sense of value for some
things. They then either bump the bidding with another
log on name, or have a friend bump it for them to create
a false sense of value within the bidding itself.

More often than not, they get stuck with it and must
relist........only to do it again

isn't that the definition of idiot? To repeat the same
action and expect a different result?

Has it met reserve on the prior auctions?

I hate Ebay's pricing structure. It is built to encourage people to list their stuff for a free "pricing check" and then set an unrealistic reserve. Then you just pay the Ebay "reserve fee". Or, people start the auction at a ridiculous price with no reserve. If they get a bid, great, they sold the car at a crazy price. If no bids, they owe Ebay nothing. So stupid.

You list, you pay a listing fee. You list with a reserve, you still pay if it doesn't sell.

The first time the guy posted it there was no reserve and it ended under $6000. I knew from having contacted him that he was looking for closer to $10K so I was surprised to see it would sell for that, then I noticed that the high bidder was a newbie WHO ONLY BID ON THIS SELLER'S ITEM (In other words a shill). So the first time, with no reserve he bought it himself. The second time it was with a reserve and ended in the $6Ks' without making reserve. Frankly in this economy I think $6-$7K might do it for a gas coupe but it is nice. I don't think the seller is prepared to let it go for that though.

Actually, that's a big flag indicating insanity.

Sounds like someone who takes the name mercedes benz and thinks they can sell for it a lot of cash but unfornately it doesnt work that way. It looks like a nice car from the pictures but who knows he could be hiding something.
