I tried to replace the two guage lights with these LEDs and each time it caused the turn signal lights, oil light, and high beam light to all light up but LEDs didnt come on. Anyone have any thoughts on what may be wrong?

I used fluorescent paint recently to even up the color.

Guys, I found this link, check it out.

I don't see how any of these aren't just incredibly marked up 12V LEDs...

I am trying to find my order that were 100% drop-in replacements but I can't remember my credentials on the site at the moment. IIRC they were about $4 a piece and were blue LED clusters, buy direct from an electronics supplier, not from a bunch of clowns on the interwebs after a $10+shipping markup and giving your credit card to who knows where.

Old post but the leds have polarity requirements.A weak instrument cluster ground in combination with an led installed backwards may have enabled these symptoms. Some other possibilities as well I suppose.

Keep leds under their designed voltage or at it and they should last a minumin of ten thousand hours. If they are not overheating that is. Thirty thousand hours is also common for a life span rating.

I'm glad this popped up today. I had the 123 dash in pieces today but could not find the LED's I bought to put in. My speedo is off being rebuilt so the re-install will include the update...If I find those dang LED's...

WTF! Don't like the BW links, don't click. Others will appreciate other options. If there are any stink, it's from you.....

My gripe is not about BW, I am on there as well and don't care that you linked there. This is what I am talking about:

http://www.mbcluster.com/IlluminationPage.htm#P5

which is linked on the BW thread. I am pointing out to DIYers that the LEDs cost a whole whopping $10 total, not each, and the job is relatively easy for those who are mechanically inclined. I can't comment on the R129 job.

It's not all about money sometimes, appearance is most important to me. I did mine three times, bc I wasn't happy with the 1st two attempts. See the links for for my latest, heck..I might do it again for a fourth time with plasma....

Thought I would try brighter lights (again). Ordered the 5 Ultra Bright SMT L.E.D. from LEDLight.com, shown at the top of their page. Shows only 1 wire per side, but the ones that came have 2. Stock lights have 1 on each side. Not even going to try.
Maybe I'll try the MercedesLED.com lights, although why would it take 1-2 hours to install 2 bulbs.

R U saying a total of "4" wires (2 per side). That's odd, even so...still should work. One side is still "+" & the other side is "-".

If that's the type of leds you want, eBay would be best (cheapest), search for "194 leds". Less than $10 shipped for a pair.
