Disassembling a 116 blower motor

Anyone know how to disassemble a 116 blower motor? It's a sealed motor and I can't figure out how to remove the back plate. Looks like it's held on by a series of 'ears' that don't want to bend back out of the way. I thought there was a thread on here about how to do it but I haven't been able to find it.
Mine isn't working right and I'd like to attempt to replace the brushes if it's possible.

So nobody has done this? With Fastlane selling new ones for $341 !!!! I'm surprised there's not a plethora of frugal people taking them apart. There is a thread on a similar motor being taken apart but I don't think it's exactly like the one I have. M********sou*** advertises a booklet and parts to rebuild one but the picture in the booklet, despite the fact that it says it's for a W116, shows a picture of a motor quite different than mine.
I put a used motor in my car, but I'd like to put new brushes in this one so I have a backup.
I've learned that heating the epoxy(?) that seals the outside with a small butane torch releases it from the housing.

Thanks. Appears that he got the motor apart. Don't know if it was put together the same way as mine. There is another thread that talks about the back cover being 'staked' and having to file pieces away to get it off. I don't know what 'staked' means. My ears look somewhat similar to Jimmy's pictures in that thread, but you can see in his pictures how his cover can be turned to be released from the ears. Mines doesn't have that feature.
I may end up cutting off some of the ears with a dremel and then figuring out an alternate way to reattach the back plate.

straighten out the ears, pull apart. the ears are what is referred to as staked, I believe. not fastened w/ screws.

I just did a 123 motor, went to the local auto electric shop and got brushes for $5/ea. brought the disassembled unit w/ me to match brushes.

I can't bend back the ears because they are cast into the motor housing. They're not bent over the back plate. If you click on the link to Fastlane below you can pull up the picture and see the motor:

blower motor repair
There was a blast from the past. I was disassembling the blowing on the Squash I believe. After that, it always worked better than any of the others. [higher on low, if that makes sense] Current draw should be less too.
Just some larger random shots of taking the blower apart:

Punching motor assy out from under squirrel cage.

Punch the armature shaft right out from the fan
