buying/keeping dilema

Hello, I've got a chance to buy an E300D wagon for around £2000 ($3500ish), with 150,000 miles and air-con, or keep my existing E300D which has 190,000 miles and no air-con, but I can have it brand-new retro-fitted to factory spec for £1800.
My car is in slightly better overall cosmetic condition, but I was wondering what your choice would be? Do you think spending that much on a car with 190k is false economy? Both cars have been looked-after mechanically and have no major issues. (and yes, I reeeally want air-con! )

for 40K miles, I would keep the "gal" you know. You know what you have. Swap for $3500 and who knows what is hiding to get the car where yours is now, without the air.

I couldn't agree more. These gals are much better after you have had them a while, and know whats going on. How she wakes up, goes to sleep, and when to take her in.

You know how you have kept up your car. Regardless of what the seller says, you have no idea what he or she did to it.

Over here, estates have higher resale than the sedans. So I would buy the Wagon.

I would say the major dilema is if you want a wagon or a sedan. If you want a wagon go for it. If not, keep yours and get the air put on.

If it were me, I'd go for the wagon.
