EGR Block-plate | OM606/605/604? non-turbo

Found this thread posted by one of our Netherlands counter-parts...

An OEM solution to disabling the EGR on our non-turbo OM606's...

E220 Diesel: Disabled my EGR today.

Parts numbers... I'm sure this would be a special order :D
blocking plate: A 603 142 00 91
gasket: A 604 142 05 80 (used two of these, one on each side of the blocking plate)

I found a thread on the same subject a while back where they removed the EGR pipe from the manifold (stainless steel clamp) and installed a 3/4" copper pipe plug into the pipe, and reinstalled it.

I had to "sand down" the OD of the 3/4" copper pipe cap just a bit to get it to fit - then tapped it into place with a hammer.

I had a similar thread myself a few years ago. I posted this thread as it is an "OEM" solution.

Do you guys NA 606's have MAF sensors? Just out of curiosity...

Nope... there is a small "temperature sensor though, similar place where the OM606 turbos have their MAF.

No. Thus the simplicity.

OK, cool. It's nice you have both flavors for side by side comparisons. :)

If you look at the rearmost inlet port in the photo on the link posted by the OP, see how it is dry in comparison with the ports which are further forward.

I am beginning to suspect that the crankcase vent system doesn't put *enough* oil mist down these rearmost ports, and that is why the OM606 in particular has been known to have severe inlet valve wear and valve seat recession on its rear cylinders.

As the OM606 has hydraulic tappets, there isn't the same routine valve clearance adjustment where an owner or mechanic can begin to see that the clearances are closing up, and as the engines are so smooth, and the inlet manifold so long and quiet, the fault goes un-noticed in many engines.

Stop by your local stealer.. I'm sure they can get it

I emailed phil, he says that is a NON-US part and that the dealer cannot get a non-us part....I wonder if the OP would be willing to sell them to us

Ask your local stealer. There was a part that I needed one time and the stealer stated that it would have to be ordered from Germany... so I'm confident a stealer could get one... But I guess we'll have to find out
