Bleeding clutch MC
I have searched the threads first and could not find a similar situation to mine.
So, I hooked up a tube to my right front bleeder and filled it up then attached it to the clutch slave and began the bleed process. All was going fine and then after about 6 rounds of cracking the slave bleeder , depressing the brake, closing the bleeder and releasing the brake, I started getting fluid leaking out from around the slave bleeder. I only have opened the slave bleeder enough for fluid to flow maybe 1/8 turn or so. Is this normal? Does it mean that the system is full? I haven't been able to observe the reservoir and see if air is bubbling through it since I am under the car when my daughter pushes on the brake. I have kept the reservoir filled so no air is entering. Now my bleed partner has left me to do homework with a pal so I am taking a break to try and get some answers.

You left out one vital piece of info...how does the clutch feel now?
Six pumps of the brake is unlikely to be enough.

What about the weeping past the threads on the slave bleeder?
I am barely cracking it open.

Didn't catch that, are you sure it's not fluid leaking at the bleeder hose interface?

Also, have you tried the clutch yet?

You might get a bit of seepage out of the bleeder screw threads.

Yellowbenz: Definitely leaking past the threads

Your clutch slave bleed fitting could be plugged as its the lowest part of the system. Pull it, hold your finger over the hole while your assistant checks it (take the pressure off first)
As mentioned, you dont have to open and close anything, just pump.

Success. I gave it 30 steady brake pumps after 3 earlier feeble [8 or 10 pumps] pumping attempts and then tightened everything down.
I fired it up and was able to get it into gear with no effort at all. The clutch is so deceivingly light that before I started the car I gave it a tentative push and it did not feel like it had any resistance especially compared to the brake pedal which even when the bleeders were open had more resistance. Anyway, thanks for the feedback and as usual persistance and patience are requirements for any of these kind of projects. I have another clutch question that I will search first before posting a new thread
