Progress is being made. I have all the side trim painted and have got a spare front bumper from the junkyard to paint. I got the bumper apart, but I'm not sure how I will get it back together...it looks like all the 'winged' nuts that attach the bumper structure, plastic cover and chrome top together are going to be nearly imposable to get back in place. Anybody have any tips?

I am currently filling in 20 something years of rock chips on the spare front bumper plastic and waiting for some trim clips from the dealer to install the side trim. I should have pictures in the next few days.

looks pretty sharp so far... good luck with the bumper, I've never dealt with those bumpers, but ones similar to it have been a pain

Yeah, the bumper is turning out to be a real pain, and the black paint sure doesn't make it easy for me.

No, just plain duplicolor T100 Black which is supposed to be (and indeed does seem to be) a perfect match to Mercedes 040 Black.

Most auto paint shops should be able to mix you a paint to the factory color and put it in spray cans for you.

Those wing bolts are a pain. I knocked a some off when putting mine back together. Said F-it and put it together with only about 5. I will redo it sometime this spring. I think if you use some duct tape to keep them in place you should be able to get it together without knocking them out. Wrap the painted part with painters plastic so you can handle it better without scratching the heck out of the paint. Wish I would have done that.

Mirrors. Take them off. Pull the rubber part off and look inside. You will see a round clip holding the glass part on the pivot ball. Use some needle nose plyers to remove the clip and pull off the glass. There are a couple(maybe 4) screws that hold plastic part on to the frame.

Don't worry about the flex agent. You don't need it
