85 300td euro(non Turbo) Revs up high on my garage

I have had my td wagon in the garage for a while since i repainted her,i started the engine last 2 times to have to go out and rush to manually stop her because she just revs up to maximum rpms,i have very nicely lubricated linkages with zep2000 so i do not think it is stuck linkage, any help?
Thanks

Sounds like backwards linkage. Does it hit the idle stop? Did you recently replace the shut off?

Shutoff is original, never had any problems prios to letting it sit,but i did do a valve adjustment and i now wander if i may have the linkage wrong,i did driver it for about 500 miles after the adjustment.im puzzled, its scary to have it do this.

Look at some pictures. Make sure the lever on the IP is resting on the idle screw.

No go

Spring is in place and all linkage looks the samne as my other w123 but the car stays stuck when i hit the pedal, today i was able to turn it on without it going to high rpm's but as i was going out of the garage as soon as i put a little gas it stays stuck,i checked the pedal and i was able to release it from inside the car by pulling a bit on the gas pedal? what can be causing this?
Any help???
Unable to drive my car anywhere with this issue any help is aprecialoved.

Seems like, if you can start it without the runaway condition going into effect, that you could start it, get out of the car and operate the throttle from the linkage, you could see if its binding anywhere, and also be closer to the stop lever. If it isnt the linkage you would think its some kind of ip issue. lets hope its the linkage.

This wagon has a very different ip than ive ever seen, look more likt he ip on my 87 diesel.
This kind of thing always happens to me after a valve adjustment.
