Ambitous 300CD seller in Tulsa
I had about an hours notice at work yesterday that I was flying down to Tulsa with my dad and his friends to be the designated driver for their boat show outing. Left at 3:00 with 8 guys talking business and small talk and returned at 11:30 with 8 guys discussing egregiously inappropriate topics in various levels of coherence and consciousness. I've never seen someone double fist travel size Jack Daniels and Red Wine before.
My favorite boats of the show: Chris Craft Corsair: http://www.chriscraft.com/index.php?submenu=Gallery_Corsair28&src=photo&srctype=lister&ref=Corsair%2028&category=Models&filmstrip=1149 Marquis Yacht: http://www.marquisyachts.com/Page.aspx/pageId/5830/pmId/141245/Marquis-420.aspx Anywho, back on topic... We had about 2 hours to kill before the show started, so we went to the bar district in town. On the way there, we drove by a small car lot with 2 W123s sitting in the inventory. After taking a few minutes of jokes ranging from Exxon Valdez (my neighborhood turning into an ecological disaster area if I buy another) to the anti (feline) magnet (No wonder I don't see you with any women, Tyler), and... the old standard... you can't polish a turd. Throughout the onslaught, my dad would fill the spaces between jokes with a farting noise to simulate a diesel motor accelerating. I dropped them off at their watering hole, drove the 15 passenger van back to the dealer to check them out. The coupe was a 1980, meaning non-turbo, and evil servo... so I was immediately turned off. It had a very nice repaint, but every window seal was completely shot. The interior was fairly nice, but baked as well. The salesman gave me the key to a 1984, and I told him it was the wrong one. He didn't believe me, until he put the key in the ignition and nothing happened. 210k, Bundts sanded down ready for paint, and nasty water leaks were apparent on the front, rear and sunroof window seals. Motor mounts were shot, dangerously loose shifter linkages, and de-laminating rear glass. No rust and working AC at least. He claimed to have extensive records and one original owner, but has them in a file cabinet at home. Anyone want to guess the asking price?

As a 1980 Evil Servo Non-Turbo 300cd owner I'd have to guess $6,000.

*edit* blue dash had only 1 crack about an inch long coming from the passenger speaker cover... It was the nicest blue dash I've seen, other than Turbobenz's car.

Might as well say, "one dollar Bob..."
I'm not knocking people out if they go over. Any more guesses? I reveal the price as soon as this hits page 2.

That guy is nuts!! Was he even haggle-able?
A local guy (small car lot) here wanted $2500 for a 240d auto with no working gauges, slight interior damage, and vacuum problems (shifted VERY hard). I promptly left. Lowest he'd go was $2100. It sat on the lot another 2.5 months, then was gone one day....haven't seen it anywhere....wonder if someone bought it.
