Wrecked my '81 240D tonight

Like the subject says, it's probably history. Headlights, grill, hood & radiator gone. I suspect the adjuster will total it. Now I have to find a cheap replacement. Anyone around Marietta/Woodstock GA looking to sell one of your toys?

If that is all that was damaged, then fix it up! 114k on it! Save it!

Contact daw_two. He recently picked up a nice looking 240D manual he's planning to sell in the near future... I believe he's pretty close to you.

1978 240D ----- 4 Speed

I expect a commission, daw.

I'm always sorry to hear about losing one to a wreck. But don't give up on it too early. Especially if it runs well. Maybe you only crunched some replaceable metal.

Bummer. Sorry to hear that Big J.

Drop me a PM. I was planning on selling my 300D later in the Spring but may be enticed into letting it go sooner.

I'm just across the way in Lawrenceville.

Hope you are okay. Your 240D is low miles.

I just picked up a 1978 240D 4speed --- I have about 12 pics over on PhotoBucket.

We had rain the day I went to see it:

Sympathies

Sorry for your Loss. Hope everyone is okay.

Check Craig's List in ATL

Personally, I would consider rebuilding if you have the time and space cause decent Front body parts are readily available and generally not too pricey.

Indeed - hope all are ok.

There are quite a few on Craigslist right now - spoke to a seller recently in Roswell about a 1980 w116 300SD: http://atlanta.craigslist.org/cto/991480033.html
Did not get a chance to check it out. Sounds well maintained mechanically, except for some body work and some water coming in cabin (maybe drains, various rubber). Looks like he dropped the price to $1650. They've got some pics to email. I'd be interested if I has some xxtra green!

Been lurking for a while and getting some awesome help on this forum. This is my first post!

A wagon for $3k was just posted today on Craigslist in ATL:

The seller looks willing to bargain. You can probably get a great deal in this economy... Sorry to hear about your loss!

38MPG wow!!! better get this one. Doesn`t say original owner, but almost makes me think it is. NOT.

really feel bad about your loss. we all say fix it, but don`t know your circumstances, or know the total extent of the damage. hate to see the loss of yet another W123 out of the inventory. Yeah, fix it .

114,000 miles, wow that is like brand new compared to some of the stuff some of us drive.
