I don't understand why some people, *cough* Pawosd and others feel the need to criticize a mild styling choice AFTER it has been done. Is it to validate what you have, make yours better than mine in your mind? The old wheels are even more flat faced, by the way. Now, if I did a two tone paint job with a spoiler and ground effects, feel free to chime in and tear me a new one. I tried to keep these wheels mild and appropriate to the wagon. I could have gone for 19" Lorinsers. Can you say rollerskate?

The same thing happened with my Pentas on Ol' Turbo. 'Tires too meaty, I like what I have better, euro trash'... they were Pentas for goodness sake.

Snobbery, benz snobbery. I'm never posting....ever... again.

That rear window on Smash looks great Jimmy. I looked at your original purchase pictures and couldn't believe that was the same side as this.

Did the POR15 match the paint that closely?

Ahh I wouldn't worry about what people think. As long you are comfortable and like it... It's all good.

Now if we can get Jimmy to dig it....

That's hilarious. I was being mostly sarcastic with the other post.

It looks like they do two wheels for that reason. If it were only one, you could mount the spare, drive off, and cut off the boot at home.

The ones around here, cover the lug nuts also. So that is why I am asking. Some of the Dallas folks could help Jimmy with a heist and let him borrow their spare.

Every wheel change has taken time to grow on me. The worst was with the SL. I remember sitting outside for about an hour staring at it, thinking that I ruined the looks of the car. Now I can't imagine it any other way.

I guess the silver POR15 matched better than the black would have, but it isn't exactly the same color silver. Anything looks better than that rust, and I removed the trim piece and got it all the way back. It didn't go through to the inside luckily. Even with a slight difference in color it completely changes the look of that side of the car, not to mention it stopped the rust onslaught.
Believe me, had I had two spares I would have removed the tires and driven over to my buddies with a torch! They are like pinchers and just close into both side of the wheel. The front was very close to being removable. Believe me, I tried.
I am a hunnert bucks lighter on the credit card. I have parked in this lot after 3:00pm for over 15 years while servicing equipment in downtown Dallas with never so much as a note on the windshield. Now they check the lot later because I didn't park until around 3:30.
Guy that came to take my $$ and remove the locks started trying to talk about the wagon. I told him that banter to try and deflect my anger was a waste of our time. [anger at myself as this was only my doing]
There go my rubber winter mats from Fastlane for the W124......
I'm still gonna try and dispute the credit card charge. Worth a try.....
BTW, I think your wagon looks great!!! I never had noticed the very black front bumper, although I remember you posting about it once. Just a beautiful green that car is.....

Concur. I wonder if that button still works. It's 4:40am, wonder if I should try it. Do you dare me?

I wasn't trying to criticize....I just meant that the original wheels looked nice too.....so I didn't see the reason for swapping them. If I went with lower profile wheels they'd be killed in short order by our roads here....the thicker the tire the better!!! Our 300E had lower profile tires on it when we got it, I immediately got higher profile tires to combat the pot holes....

Its a war zone here!!

I do like the look of AMG wheels, but I like the original E320 ones too....

I think with this new phone that I can block numbers. Hmmm, might have to investigate......
Aren't you in a different time zone too or are you central? [although at 4:40, either time zone would draw an illegal procedure penalty....
