Hose Material for Diesel Fuel

When I had my car recently in the shop for guide rod rebuilds and replacement of the engine mounts the fellow said the small hoses that are on the inlet and outlet of the Tiny Plastic PreFilter look like they needed to be replaced eventhough they are not leaking now. They are directly over the Drivers side engine mount.

They are presently black rubber looking about 3/8" OD maybe a bit less.

Do I need to use a special material hose for Diesel Fuel?

I see a few diesel hoses under hood that are clear so that is why I'm asking.

TY in Advance

I used GoodYear Fuel (5/16 of an inch) Hose that is sold in most every Autoparts store; it is rated for Diesel Fuel as well as gas and gasohol. But, this on a 123.

5/16" fuel injection hose is what you want.

If you are going to be running biodiesel you'll want either Viton linned or solid viton lines. The viton linned hoses are much cheaper and more durable. The rating for viton linned hoses is SAE30R9. Anything else is NOT linned with viton.

This is the GoodYear site:
The run of the mill Fuel Hose and specs; the one commonly found in Autopart stores:

This may be the other hose:

Here is another that I have never seen before:

Bingo!

Most "fuel injection hose" that you can get at the local parts store is vion lined.
