Watts,

Let me know if your Wife is ever behind me driving, I'd gladly move out of her way!

She doesn't tailgate but if she wants to pass another car, she does NOT hesitate in doing it.

The DW likes hers because I work on it. Like someone else also said, it looks nice, it's paid for, and it's easy on fuel. What she doesn't like is the fear of it not starting on very cold days. (She'll get it just to where it's about to start, and let off the accelerator or the key, then not be able to get it to start all day long.) I like it because it was only a thousand bucks, and it's the most well engineered car I've ever had. I just wish the radio worked!

The wife says it's too low and slow. Tried talking her into letting my get another so she could get rid of the Exterra--not a chance.

SWMBO pretty much hates all the diesels. She won't really ride in the W123's without complaining. [Of course she does very little of anything without complaining] The E300 didn't illicit any complaints the other night when we used it instead of her FX. It was worth buying just so I can drive my own car when we go places as a family unit.
Her main objection is having multiple cars parked out front. Eh, if it wasn't that it'd be something else..........

I'm not sure if I'm on target with this at all just what I have noticed from Wifey. I'm sure you guys can up with other ideas.

My girlfriend has a 1983 300CD, she likes them a lot. She drives it around smoke pouring out the tailpipe. She Drove it all through high school with no heat. Choose it over the Toyota her sister drives.

She has picked out a name for it, and gets upset when i tell her its rust is Herpes from her days in mass. She was raised driving SDLs and CDs.

... Her little sister hates them though, refuses to drive them, she drives a Corolla, (great taste)

You have to wait for the goofy curley cue light to go out
they don't heat up fast
they sound funny
you have to fill them at the other pump
they're loud

Thumbs up I'm Lucky !

As SWMBO is who got me into Mercedes Diesels in the first place ~ she came to me and asked me to find one for her....

We still have it , the cherry 1982 240D in white , our touring car .

I vastly prefer my 1980 300CD as I like Coupes better but the 240D does Yeoman Duty all day/night without complaint and always gets better fuel economy , 30 MPG's or better most of the time .

I gave a lift for a friend of my (female of course). She told me she likes the looks of the car, but hates the engine. Funny thing she thought I had vibrating massaging chair

the reason us guys love these aged diesels is the fact that we are guys.

most women don't understand the exquisite engineering behind a turbo straight six diesel with over 500k on the odo.

but i guarentee you, you put a 300E and a 300D right next to each other, most women would go for the E.

its just a fact, diesel is an ugly word

Diesel fuel contains synthetic female pheromones. Men are thus attracted to diesel cars, and women know instinctively that the car is competition for the attention of their man.

Time to head down to the dealership and trade that dilapidated Wife in for a newer model.

There are a few ladies on this site who are very much into their Diesels and genuinely care for them properly and seek to learn more about them.

LNGfish, you need a w210... Virtually indistinguishable from a gas car. Except when the fuel mileage figures come in...

That cant be true! If that were really the case then why would they be attracted to US?
