mity vac worked like a charm. easily the most useful tool in my box for this car. and much easier than the 90 degree grinder idea I had last night
Wonder why the dash switch doesnt work anymore. Does that relay thing below rear seat bench go bad? The door locks still work and engine shuts off so the vacuum system seems to be functioning.

The vacuum relay under the rear seat might have gone bad or the vacuum line could have come off. The hard plastic vacuum lines are pretty reliable but the rubber jumpers can rot over time. Pull the seat bottom and check.

The locks are separate, run from the pump under the rear seatback (passenger side).
On the 124 & 201 the pump runs only two things: locks and ortho seat backs.
