Viton O-ring for tank screen W123
Thanks for all of the advice thus far, this is a very useful thread.
Does anyone know if the W124 and W123 tank fuel screen o rings are the same? Does anyone know the specs for them so i can get a viton one? Or is someone just selling the viton o ring somewhere without having to buy the whole kit etc....? (JADavis, you just sell kits for the later engines, how bout us 616/617 guys :-) ?) I really like the comprehensive Greaseworks kit, but man it's expensive. I just need one of those and I am set. I can use the 5/16" SAE30R9 for everything else - except injector return lines which I can get from multiple sources. I just put on new return lines from the dealer, so I will wait for those to show signs of trouble. dd |
Greaseworks had viton injector return line kits.
Injector return line kits 4 Cylinder Kit 5 Cylinder Kit You can also buy the 1/8" hose in bulk, for $3/ft They also have bulk viton and 30R9 hose: Bulk Viton Bulk 30R9 Also I've never put a viton o-ring on my tank screen. I have 25k miles of biodiesel use after cleaning the tank screen and replacing the o-ring. It hasn't started leaking yet, and that was three years ago. So I'd suggest a regular tank screen o-ring. |
$15 a foot! Man, I aint buying a brunette.
I priced some 1" for our dumpster diving rig, and its near $50/foot. I'm stopping in AZ today to see if they have the 30R9, or know of what I speak and can order 25'. . EDIT: I went to CarQuest first. I typcially get my parts there, and can still get parts for my 67 Chevelle there. Anyway, the Gates hose they sell as " fuel injection" hose is 30R9 rated. It even said " elastoflourimer lining". But its not blue. I checked out the 2' I bought, it does have a liner if you look close. So at CarQuest stores, the Gates FI hose, is biodiesel rated. |
