Had to post another update. Was going to clean up the trunk, and found some rust. So, while the parts car is still here, figured it should give up some metal. Still have a bunch of fill welding to do, but it's not looking too bad for an amateur.

Are those flux core welds? It's hard to tell the difference between slag and nasty Mercedes metal at times.

And I'm just trying to fix the rust. It was dark, and the metalwork has just started. It'll be prettier when it's done. Bodywork is not my forte. Function over form.

I think the gas bottle is empty on the welder. Time for more Argon.

Yep, it will.

Hey, it looks fine to me. Nothing a little extra grinding and filling won't fix. You should see what my arc welding looks like... Or would look like if I'd stop sticking the rod to the work piece.

Sold the car today. Sad to see it go, actually. Now I'm down to 2 W123's. Getting an itch, I can feel it.
