The idle speed controller is a big roundish thing right on the back of the injection pump. There is a two-pin connector at the top of the device. The connector goes to a wire that snakes through the intake manifold where there is a similar two-pin connector laying flat on one of the runners. You can disconnect it at either place.

As far as a manual, there is a huge PDF available on the 'net. I'd be surprised if there isn't a link to it from this forum someplace. Seek and ye shall find.

I will be hosting this file on my mediafire account (when download done), it has rollover bandwith and let's just say I got alot of it, along with unlimited storage.

thank you guys for all the help. I figured out the problem. My parts store gave me the wrong vsv. The one they gave me is one number diferent on the part number and the only diference is the nipple that goes into the pump is on the opposite side. so it would slide into the shut off lever but was on the wrong side so it jammed the pump wide open. after reinstalling the old vsv it runs like a champ idles nice and smooth and after fixing a few vacum leaks it shuts off all by itself. thank you guys for the help.
