I floored my SD today on a downhill on-ramp and was able to make 90mph in probably about 30 seconds......it still felt lethargic compared to the 300E...sigh. However, the turbine roar of the 617 makes up for it!!! I wound it out to 4900rpm in third (nearly 78mph )

Even though its not technically "fast" there's something special about a high speed flat out run in a 617 powered car....its awesome!

Was the first time I've exceeded 70ish in months....probably cleaned out a lot of soot.....but it was night so I couldn't see if anything blasted out...

I've achieved 29.2 in the city by driving like a super granny.....I'm talking using the throttle as little as possible.....driving 23-25mph....slowing on hills instead of giving more fuel...coasting all the way to lights...infuriating other drivers.... .....my target was to always keep the rpms below 1400, I managed to do it for a whole tank full.....(90% city driving).....and got that mileage. I went nearly crazy though!!!

I'm back to maniac driving.....currently I am getting about 22-23...

We have radar signs all around here at every school, if its off its less than 1mph. To be certain I would like to find someone with an iphone. I am fairly confident in the number, when I run through this tank I'll do it on D2, I am pretty certain I can shave a bit off of it.

If I had a fresh clutch I could shave a half second off I think.

I avg between 18-22mpg depending on how energetic I drive. I have yet to make any long distance insterstate only trips, however I will be making one at the end of the month. 99% of my driving is intown and block to block at that. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=crestdale+cir+atlanta+ga+30316&daddr=Glynn+Dr+SE+to:Village+Creek+Landing+to:E+Confederate+Ave+SE+to:Berne+St+SE+toark+Ave+SE+to: 33.750178,-84.376373+to:marietta+st+atlanta+ga+30303&hl=en&geocode=%3BFSCBAgIdhBz5-g%3BFdKNAgIdOvD4-g%3BFWqgAgIdtND4-g%3BFcjJAgIdUJ74-g%3BFT_eAgIdpp74-g%3B%3B&mra=dme&mrcr=0&mrsp=6&sz=14&via=1,2,3,4,5,6&sll=33.73408,-84.36024&sspn=0.049537,0.077248&ie=UTF8&ll=33.735047,-84.358778&spn=0.049536,0.077248&z=14

I was getting 21mpg in my 93 Honda Accord on the same route.
