This is the car. Any recommendations on a bid for this car from anyone appreciated.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-Trucks___05-E320-CDI-TURBO-DIESEL-32K-MI-1-OWNER-LOADED-WARRANTY_W0QQitemZ190286145667QQddnZCarsQ20Q26Q20TrucksQQddiZ2282QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?h ash=item190286145667&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65%3A7%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318#ht_6114wt_1202

I drive 130 miles a day on a busy interstate in a Prius. I need something safer and less taxing to drive. Crosswinds are a killer in the prius.

Thanks, I did not see your posting at first. Been too long since I have posted prior to starting this thread for sure.

I drove a new R350 gasser and liked everything about the rig exept the engine. Big and roomy inside, and easy for old fart to get in and out of without hurting something.

Will do. I know someone with a GL320CDI and he's really pleased with it. Looks like it's hewn from solid rock, nice looking for an SUV.

If I buy another diesel MB it will most likely be a CDI...but E55's are cheap, and I have already done the diesel thing...might do the 500hp, super charged V8, full on AMG thing for a bit insted.

No brake problems at all. The SBC (Sensatronic, not servo ) is a little different to get used to as the pedal will slightly vibrate occasionally when the electric pump kicks in. You CAN work on them yourself... all you have to do is unplug the SBC pump/valves box. Otherwise if the pump kicked in while you were working on it you would overextend the caliper at best or lose fingers, etc.

My transmission is a little wonky, but some of it is I need to re-train it (there is a procedure that adapts the transmission to the current state of the clutch packs, etc). Also, the fluid wasn't changed till 80k miles or so (I bought it at 67). Changing the fluid helped a LOT. MB only replaced 4 quarts so I'll change it myself in the near future and that should take care of things.

I don't know I am off the market as of June of last year since I got a lifetime deal. Although with the downturn of the economy I am sure you could pick one up cheaper....but be careful of those stagflation wives.

Yes, but they will drink a small fortune in gas and have your car insurance so high all you will be doing is looking at it in the drive way.

I have a 2002 Mercedes w211 E270 CDI.
The car has almost 300000 km (more or less 185000 miles) and it is very good, without any problem

I think that there aren't any of these engines in USA. Here in Europe the Mercedes w211 are almost all diesel (most of them 220 cdi and 270 cdi)
There are also some 200 and 320 cdi.

I not sure but 270 sounds right, the new one ('07 & up) has the 320CDI V-6 instead of the old 5 cylinder of '06 and earlier.
