Starter whirring and disengaging on '84 300D
Folks,
In the past few days, my '84 300D has been having problems starting. I try to start it, it gives about 3 revolutions and then the engine dies as the starter whirrrrs until I release the key. If I give it a ton of glow cycles and then blip the pedal as I start it, I can get it to come to life, but as my only transportation I'd rather not keep pushing it. From searches I've run on here, it sounds like a problem with the starter that would best be solved by having my shop replace the starter. Is that correct? Thanks! Aaron
