lower the cd's butt?

How do you lower a 300cd's ass end? cut a half a coil off the rears? my car is kinda growing on me but has the tail up- overall downward rake, and Im also planning on painting my spare set of wide side window trim bodycolor (burgendy)to rid it old that 60's-70's look when I repaint the car

Hey, my 300cd has the butt sag you're looking for. I replaced the (original!) front shocks with HD's but haven't gotten to replacing the rears yet. Buy my old MB rear shocks, put some sandbags in the trunk, there you go.

Ever since I rebuilt my front end it sits higher than the rear end.

When I lowered mine, I took 2 coils off the front, then 1 off the rear. It worked quite well. I also have a lot of weight in my trunk, you might want to go with 1.25-1.5, but if you do that, do it in increments.

how hard is it to get the rears out for trimming and how much harder did it make the ride?

Toss a bag of sand or a few cement blocks in the trunk?

Find out which rubber spring pads sit above the springs and obtain the next thinner size.

Brian is right. How much of a lean is it. Rear trunk lip should be 1-2" higher than the leading hood edge. Are your shocks in the front good?

Springs should NEVER be cut. Its dangerous to you and everyone else on the road. Its also illegal in most states.

I rebuilt the suspension in the same process. The ride is better than ever to me. I don't think it's too hard at all...still feels like a Mercedes.

I do get a lot of sway now from all the weight in the trunk. I wish I could get one when the guys found the 15mm sway bars.

So are euro headlights according to the DOT.

There fixed it for you

Oddly enough I cannot find a single state that actually lists it illegal to cut springs. Some apparently require stock ride height, but nothing about cut springs.

I lowered mine with vogtlands and 150lbs of PNP tools in the trunk. The tools do effect handling.

Not to mention the inside of your rear quarter panels when you take those corners...

Another claim of absolute authority by a person without any experience.........we've been down that road before.

It's your vehicle...........do what you want.
