anti-freeze

Does anyone know where to get Zerex anti-freeze or another kind that works well for the Mercedes?

Either at Mercedes or at an auto parts store - look for G-05.

Plan on using only MB antifreeze with distilled water. Flush the system with distilled water first.Other types of antifreeze wont "freeze" but the proprietary MB is supposedly much easier on the engine, water pump housing etc and using distilled water minimizes the galvanic corrosion of the disimilar metals in the engine.

Made by a company known as Valvoline, and sold as Zerex G-05.

Read the Lables

The next time I buy some GO-5 Iam going to read the lable a little closer.

I was at OSH(Orchard Supply hardware) and as I came down the automotive isle, I noticed the gold bottle of GO-5, and the $12.99 price got my attention.

I have a 2 1/2 gallon jug I mix my antifreeze in with distilled water. I was pouring in the GO-5 and noticed it looked a little watery, looked at the lable. 50/50 pre-mix, Damn. I never buy that stuff pre-mixed, that`s some expensive water .

So I go to santa Cruz Autp parts and buy the concentrated stuff, $17.99, yikes!!! Oh well I needed it, but going to look closer next time.

Lately I haven`t seen it in too many places like I use to. Kragans use to sell it,

I noticed the other day that O`Rilleys now owns kragans, saw some of their oil on the shelf and asked the kid about it.
