6,477 miles... be sure and check them when you arrive. bring a nice aluminum floor jack with you to jack up the rear and inspect them. oh, and beware of dog packs on the side of the road...

Thats the clackety clack dont come back warranty. My new install on a tie rod was intersting, opening the package to see what was a very thin version of what the factory MB had bolted on.Im guessing at one half of diameter were the threads ended.I Know its just a link to the steering hub but theirs a reason MB designed it their way, another engineer designed these for cost .

12,500 for leaks and 15,000 for complete failure. I hope I'm wrong!

What "exactly" do these axles sound like when they begin to fail? Like a failing CV joint on a front driver (clicking)?

The car I just aquired has some aftermarket axles from a place called Central Auto Parts. They had the lifetime warranty too. These axles have 17,000 miles on them.

I hear a heavy clunking coming from the rear when shifting gears. I also hear the clunk in corners while slowing or accelerating sometimes. Is this one of the symptoms of the failing axles? I got up under the car and grabbed them. They move in and out smoothly, boots are good and everything seems pretty tight.

The flex discs and the center bearing are new. Its almost like someone was trying to troubleshoot it and could not figure it out...

After reading the upgrade list for the car, I'm going to lower my estimate to 9000. Would have guessed closer to 20k, but I get the feeling that your left foot gets kinda heavy sometimes.

What about Autopart International? I know they were purchased by Advance, but they still use their own suppliers, and I have had much better luck with parts from them.

1000 miles, looks like we will see if the lifetime warranty is all its cracked up to be. This was on my wifes car, now I am worried. Had I factored in th $155 tow charge I woul have totally gotten them here or somewhere else.
