Pull your left trunk liner and try connecting a battery directly to the motor.

alright thank, is it just like two post on the motor or is it a plug. The linear is already off because my system in the trunk is covering it up.

It's a two prong plug.

sunroof
In my 85 the sunroof quit like you describe. Turned out to be the dash switch. It is a weird setup on the switch, if I remember correctly, where it swaps the +12v on the poles at the motor to make it run fwd and rev. I did the jumper test too and found the motor to be OK.
Oh, just had to clean up the switch to make things go again...

When you are trying to close the sun roof with the motor does it close if you pull the leading edge of the sun roof foward while pressing the switch? If this works you can tighten the clutch in the motor and that sometimes takes care of it.

No need to remove the panel, just gently pry the switch out from the top and bottom. The switch receives 12V and a ground as an input and it swaps these between the two wires that run to the sunroof motor for forward and reverse.
