Pyrometer for OM606

Has anyone here installed a pyrometer in their '98/'99 E300D? I'm specifically curious about where folks are placing the probe, given that there doesn't seem to be a pre-turbo exhaust test port like those found on earlier MB turbodiesels

I'm not too familiar with the 606, ideally you want the probe to be just before the turbo. My self and others who have put them on the 617 have had to drill and tap a hole in the exhaust manifold to install them, not use an existing port.

Would a Pyro in a gasser be pointless? hehe. I imagine it would.

If it was a turbocharged gasser, no.
