P0243 revisited question about EGR Transducer (606.962)

I have been getting a P0243 CEL. I have swapped transducers with no change. I noticed something odd that might be the reason for my problem..... On the EGR Transducer it seems that the rubber line that goes from the EGR is connected to the "OUT" nipple on the transducer. The other nipple is connected to vacuum....The bottom nipple is connected to the hose with the filter on the end.....

is this the correct setup? I noticed on the wastegate transducer, it is connected with the vacuum line and filtered vacuum output connected to the top two nipples and the wastegate rubber line is connected to the bottom of the transducer....

So my questions are, which is the correct setup? If somehow these were connected wrong could it fry the transducer? Could this be the reason for a P0243 CEL? Just want to cover all my bases before I start swapping parts... THANKS!

The bottom goes to the vent. OUT goes to the device being controlled.

There is a test for the wastegate tranducer voltage on ECU pins 53 and 37 (+4 volts at idle and -3v at 1500-3000rpm). Second half of test is to see pressure drops too.

PM me your email and I cant send it to you if you like.

I'm trying to figure mine out now too; new transducer doesnt seem to have helped; may be the vacuum pump.

THANKS! that solved my problem...

I am now getting the 15-17 PSI (before my boost gauge would slowly creep up and it would max out at 10psi and it would be dog slow).....The car feels like new!

I did the Glow Plugs, which got stuck, so I ended up doing the Head Gasket as well, and like an idiot I didn't tag the lines ....Put everything back together and it was DOG SLOW.....I checked for obstructions in the lines and tested the transducers no change...Now I see that I connected the lines wrong :icon_redface:.
Do you think I damaged anything by hooking it up wrong??

from what I can tell the car runs like it did before THANKS AGAIN!
