Here is a real clean 240D.

Kind of slow for my tasts but I know a lot of you guys love them. This looks like a really good example. Judging by how clean the engine bay is, it was either only driven in the summer or is a southern/CA car. |
Or barely driven at all if the odo is accurate, and detailed by the dealership.
Notice the little MB star on the brake booster? Never seen that before...neat. |
My eyes must be failing me... description says it's got a "black" interior, but I see blue?

the dash looked like the vinyl was dried out and could crack under slight finger pressure. The arm rest on the door panel has some serious puckering going on. . .It wasn't garage kept that's for sure.
It probally needs a suspension rebuild on the front. Surprisingly that engine bay is extremely clean. Definitely over priced. . . |
Of course its going to need work its an old car.
But its very clean and straight, and low mileage. Throw a few G's at replacing some rubber bits and you have a very clean low mileage summer driver. IMHO far better than a $3k clapped out 200k++ mile example, which means rust around here, usualy lots. The pictures are not the best but the interior looks clean to me, the guage needles are still orange, they fade real fast in the sun! The wood is clear, the carpets are clean, the wheel and pedals are not worn, the seats are clean, the dash has no cracks in it, clean looking car. I doubt that place would have it if it was a basket case. |

I was drooling over this one:
http://www.gullwingmotorcars.com/inv.php?action=display&autoID=655 I love early XKE's. Look at those sexy lines, and that kick ass wood rimmed wheel. |

One is sold, think I can do two more this year?:D;) |
Bah. That door panel is thrashed. It does seem like it saw a shaded parking spot, but it must have still been hot as heck in there to do that to the door. My guess is the dash is hard as a rock, and will be prone to cracking.
Still... It's pretty nice. Those puckered door panels are killing it for me. It needs replacement door panels! -The Door Panel Snob |
