Brake Pad Wear Sensor

I am planning on doing a pad swap f&r this weekend on my 300sd. Does anyone know how many wear sensors it has? I think only two - one on each front wheel..

My local MB dealer got them in 2 days, $6.00 each if I remember correctly.

You can reuse the old ones several times if you remove them carefully.

I hit the sensor long before the pads are shot because my rotors have a ridge from previous wear. Still above the minimum. I understand you should not turn these rotors - does anyone? How about using a coarse file just to cut the ridge down?

If the rotors have that much of a ridge/lip on them then they are too worn out and need to be replaced.

I run my nail across them, if it doesn't catch I just use them as-is.
