Zerex G-05 cheaper than green stuff

What a pleasant surprise. Went to NAPA yesterday to buy G-05. Price had just dropped to $10.95 for the full strength (not 50/50). Various brands of regular green was still at $12.95+.

Any reason not to convert everything I own (97 Lincoln, and 97 Ranger) to the GO-5? They are all due for a flush and refill this year.

sheesh- I just priced it @ local napa @$16.75!!

I'd buy a case @that price and do 'em all...

I run it in my 93 volvo gasser as well as the benz.

I just bought a case for $10.50 each. Had been as high as $16.00 last year.

I would. It's Ford approved. Much better for the plastic parts then the green stuff.

All the local autozones and adv. auto parts stores here quit carrying it. I had to use some prestone "safe with ANY color coolant" coolant in a pinch. The napa was closed, and I've never bought it there so I don't know if napa has it here. I'll have to check, otherwise, all I'll have locally is pure original MB coolant.

Wow....I'll have to check what its at at our local NAPA and maybe pick up a jug or two!

TheDon 03-09-2009 06:00 PM

GO-5 is compatible w/regular green-when I bought my '82 I changed the green to GO-5, FOUR years ago, still looks BRAND NEW!!!

$20 a gallon as of two months ago. FYI, my 2005 comes with green coolant...from the factory. :D

I also bought G-05 at NAPA 10 days ago for 10.95. By the way, here in Massachusetts, NAPA sells windshield washer fluid for 59 cents a gallon every Saturday only.

Is the G-05 you guys are getting red like dexkill... err, I mean dexcool? The MB coolant is a very light yellow color.
