Increasing Speed in a 1981 300D?
 

Hello all.
I've noticed that my 300D, though never a speed demon in the past, seems to be a little slower than she once was. The car especially has trouble picking up speed from 1st to 2nd gear. It actually sounds like the car has a little trouble when shifting between these two gears. No shaking or anything too nasty, just seems to be difficult for the car. I changed the oil and replaced the air filter thinking that might help some, but not too much luck. Any suggestions?

Changed the fuel filters?

Yes sir, along with the oil.

Whoops! Apologies. I thought you typed oil filter. I haven't changed the fuel filter and will certainly do so.

Replace both, and fill the secondary before you put it on.
