Crankcase Vent Oil Line
so i have a quick question...on older 123s where exactly does the oil drain tube go for the crankcase vent lead to? On the 123 i used to have i had the oil pan off before and it seems to me the line goes into the flat part of the casting above the drain pain but does anyone have a pic? i have a 1985 126 and it doesnt have that line because it has a different air filter set up. the problem is i put an aftermarket air filter on and oil seperater and there is nowhere for the oil to drain or go back into the system...the other question is do i really want that oil to go back in?

Yeah, it drains back into the oil pan, better than blowing around under hood.
Should be the same set up as a 123, same engine. Is one of your cars a Cali?

ya my 85 300SD is cali. it does not have that drain tube so i am not sure where the oil would go. Does the drain tube on the 123s have a check valve?

The cali dumped the vapor back into the air filter in the corner, and what fell all of the way down, dripped out of the bottom of the air cleaner I believe.
My 85 CA. did not have that either. I ran a hose down under the car after coverting it to federal type.
