What are the 92 300D's really worth?

The fleet of cars is getting to be too big. Right now I have 4 parked on the street, so needless to say when i get home, I normally have to park about a block away from the house.

Anyway I am thinking of getting rid of my 92 300D. I LOVE this car, it is a tank, solid as a rock, plus I just put $1700 in rebuilding the injector pump. As with any car of its age, it has a few issues, but it is mechanically sound. So, with 203K on the clock, and a pretty rust free body, what could one expect to get out of one of these?

check ebay, kbb, etc. I'd guess no more than $3,000, especially if there's rust.

As in any Market, they are worth exactly what the guy writing the check will pay you.

I would do an ebay search for the 300d's sold in the last year, look particulary for early 2008 sales as they won't represent the current economic downturn. And make a decision based on those numbers whether to sell it now, or when the dow gets back above 9000.

You get what the market can afford or how desperate you need to get rid of it. Anything is salable in any economic climate, the question is price. I will not accept check, cash deal only.

Good luck.

The market for W124's is pretty strong around here.....around 3k to 4k for a good gas or diesel model. (even the gas ones are getting good prices) I paid about $3250 for our 300E in real good shape with low miles.....and that was about 4 months ago.

If you'd rather have a nice '94 E320, I'm in a trading mood.

I'll PM you to not make this into something non-diesel.

So you are missing your diesel already? That '92 is going to feel slow after the '87.

I bought another E320 today, not as nice as the black one, if I don't find a diesel the M104 is coming out of Brutus (the "new" E320).

Hell yes I miss the diesels, it is part of my identity. Got to be a 60x though, need a little more evolved sound (sorry 61x guys) and power. I've got the 603 and wiring harness in the garage, ... might just happen if it doesn't cause a divorce.

I have gotten spoiled by the look and feel of the late 124s though, not sure I want to go through all of the updates on another '87.
