w123 seating replacement

I'm looking for an affordable resource that would replace my blue W123 velour seats. The horse hair pads are in horrible shape in the front and rear seats. I've heard of the pool noodle trick, but not on the rear back rest. I've concluded that I need to find a blue complete set of seats, most likely the leather verses velour. The velour fabric is very brittle from the sun and so the only thing I could possibly salvage would be the springs themselves.

Does anyone have any solutions or leads?

Start checking the Junk yards, Pick N Pull places. There are cars I see at the PNP that have great interiors. some of the later 123 have a foam pad on the front seats instead of horse hair. not sure about the rear seats.

There was a 78 300d with perfect black interior that came in last Jan.. didn`t take long until it got trashed .

Don`t know where you live, but PNP has 50% off sales in some states all the time. www.picknpull.com

Entire interior

What part of the country are you in....and what year is your car. I just saw an almost perfect 77 MB Tex interior on Ebay, located in Ohio. It includes practically every colored part in the car, so would even work if changing from a different color. By "almost perfect" I mean it's the best early 123 interior I've seen in years. Wrinkle free door cards, even.

I'm not affiliated in any way with the seller, just giving a heads up. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Interior-seats-door-panel-armrest-Mercedes-300d-W123_W0QQitemZ380116869708QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item38011686970 8&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65%3A10|39%3A1|240%3A1318

Oddly enough, they want $700, but will take $250 if the buyer can pick it up in Ohio.

I have a blue back MB tex seat from a 300D that I'll make you a very good deal on --- I want it gone today. In addition, I have 3 front blue MB tex seats.

Where are you located?

You might want to go to an upholstery supply house....
They have foam in three densities typically....
It can be cut with a knife... or an electric knife can do a sculpting job..
Even if this was not pretty enough for long term it might be more comfortable while you are looking for the others....
But to me it seems illogical to try to find seats which are pretty much as old as yours and expect them to be in much better shape...
That horsehair can be replaced with modern materials...
That horsehair was used for buggy seats in the 1700's... and I am not being funny..

Have you not read about my scheduling conflict? Ck the event thread.

Which one do you need? I'll make Tyler detour to come pick it up.
