How many amps are the switches good for? The round terminal posts on them are huge. Are they silver plated?

Having had the switches apart a few times, I would guesstimate the rating at 5-10 Amps or more. Power windows would be the load champion, I would think (have never measured their draw). The contacts in at least some switches do appear to be silver plated. My concern with using the switch in a high-amp load circuit would be contact erosion due to arcing. The window switches show significant wear after 20 years, I have noticed.
