Great job doing this!. I chickened out on doing mine and an Indy did both sides for me plus the engine mounts. He had me get an alignment done at an alignment shop, which I did to save the new tires. After the guide rods and engine mounts and alignment, car was allot better.

Good job. Any time you can pull/push two items on the same car it is safer than trying to pull/push between that car and something else. By any chance did you try moving the lower arm around when the guide mount was off? IF you did it might tell you if you need new bushings on the lower arm. I did all my suspention work with out having to replace those. From what I can tell the only time you need a spring compressor is for the lower arm. Try checking, I think, in the DIY section because there are people willing to rent out the correct compressor and you only want to use the one made for these cars.

Phil,

Thanks...The car is noticeably tighter. I never took the pressure off the strap to check the LCA bushings. That strap was under some serious pressure. I had to use a pry bar to operate the strap. I know the LCA bushings need replacing. They are not deformed too bad but are cracking. I'm going to hold off on the alignment until I replace them.

I talked to a member about renting a spring compressor. But it looks like I have to make the hole in the top spring perch larger. I really don't want to do that. I would like to find a compressor that fits in the hole without modifying it if possible.

I heard performance rents one. I just need to do some more research to find the one that fits. I think there are 2 different knock offs. One fits and one doesn't.
