Haven't gone much past 90 with mine, I kinda set 4000 as my personal redline.
However, it is nice to drive a vehicle that puts air pressure recommendations for traveling in excess of 100mph in the fuel door |

I've pushed 110-112 in my SD. (as has my dad in both of his)
I've taken the 300D to about 107 or so....then I had to slow down. My 300E makes that look weak. It shifts to 4th around 110.

I did get the 300D up to like 85 before I decided it was a waste of time to try and go faster.
I did get the SDL up and over 100 the other day on a back country road where no cops ever roam. |

in the 70's I had my Dad's gasser up to 120 on the NJ tnpk on New Years Day.
the car was hopping all over the road with unbalanced tires, so I slowed it down. Good to know that the diesel will do more. I'll have a look at cleaning the banjo valve. I've read that thread b4, but will reread it. Thanks. |

I've had my 300D topped out at 110 on level ground. I got 114 on a slight downgrade once.
My 240D has the sticker inside the fuel door about tire pressures for driving over 100 mph. Don't ask me why, since the only way that car is going over 100 is if I drive it off a cliff.

I've run Elvira up to about 100mph various times over the last 25 years and it always feels like there's a lot more left.
