Old style tranny and new. Interchangable?
Will a 1983 300SD transmission and torque converter swap over to a 79 w116 300SD? I know the transmissions are different, the lines bolt in in different places, and that would need to be addressed, also there might be speedo/odometer issues, but other than those, is this possibe? Are they the same length?

Anyone? The older 4 bolt pan transmissions seem to be inferior to the newer style. A guy i am working for has the old style in three cars and all have slippage issues.

w116 uses speedo cable. w126 SD is electronic pickup. Issue there. Try craigs for one heres a sample link of one i found for cheap.
