Smile I like my new injectors

I had the original injectors in my 85 300D with 298k miles. I wanted to reduce the unburned fuel I could see in my rear view mirror and improve my mileage. I was looking for new injectors and found bgkast on here:

Injector testing

After looking around, I decide on purchasing some rebuilt injectors from bgkast. He uses new Monark nozzles and pressure test each one and adds the appropriate shims. I got the rebuilt injectors with new heat shields and he supplied the data sheet below and some instructions. I pulled the old injectors and followed the instructions. After starting the car the first time, I immediately noticed the new smooth and quiet idle. I ended up having a small leak which ended up being a return line breaking down. I replaced that return line and was ready to roll.

After just filling up for the second time since getting them installed, I am averaging 27.5 mpg. I was not expecting that much of an increase. My normal driving is about 70% highway. I always get at least 23-24 mpg and I have barely touched 25 mpg the last 60k I have had the car. I have the CA trap which doesn't help the efficiency.

I am enjoying the new injector and the engine is going to purr past 300k in style with a lot more life.

I highly recommend bgkast if you need some new nozzles and rebuilt injectors ready to drop in the engine.

Thanks.

My injectors are great as well. BgKast knows what he is doing because Myrtle's engine used to sound like someone was hitting my engine block with a ball peen hammer at idle, now it sounds like a perfectly running sewing machine. My last tank before new injectors was 22mpg, the first tank after them was 25mpg, and I anticipate even better mpg as time goes on. Anyone needing new injectors, dont waste time spending $250-$300, when BgKast can rebuild them with new Monark nozzles for about half that. Too bad BgKast doesnt have an alternator service, Id send him that too, mine is at the end of its rope.

PM BgKast and he will get the ball rolling for you. You can send him your injectors and he will do all of that for you.

He gives a discount to members on here and I like to support members of this site. I am just amazed the stock injectors works as well as they did with almost 300k on them.

Is it kind of weird my bosio nozzles make my car sounds like a TDI? Its like its running on veggie oil. I thought monarchs were supposed to be the quieter nozzles

bosios vs monarchs

I will be calling BKAST for my other diesel. I have some new monarchs for my 240D which will go in soon. The bosios went into my 85 300D and mpg went from 25-26 to 28-29 with noticeable increase in power. We have a 10% grade(Teton Pass) and with the old injectors I could hit 50-52mph. With the bosios I do 58-60. very happy
