Just pour 3 gallons of canola oil in there. But before you do that, give it a flush. Undo the drain plug, open the oil fill cap and put the water hose in. Turn the water on, and start the engine. The engine will let you know when the flush is complete.

It works best when you get one quart of each weight, and mix them all together in the engine.

I heard gear oil works best. 75/90 quiets the clatter of the 617.
