Manual Vs Auto dimenstions

are the 4 speed trannies the same general size as the auto? im asking because i have my auto tranny and im getting antsy to build up my toyota swap. if i could build all of the mounts and get the truck ready before i even find the 4 speed i could be golden.

No, the manual is much shorter.

The auto is like 23 3/4 inch and the manual is like 17 1/2 inch. or so.

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

1) Not much power
2) Even less power
3) Not nearly enough power!! 240D w/auto

Anyone that thinks a 240D is slow drives too fast.

great link thanks. i still think im going to go through with the auto tranny until i find a good 4 speed. it looks like the 4 spd mounts are a bit closer to the engine as well. id like to make my carrier on my truck so that it can hold either the auto or stick tranny mounts. how far apart are the two sets of mounting holes? i think ill just design the carrier exactly like the stock mounting points on my auto mercedes donor car. any input or opinions would be great.
