Photo of the day - One is NOT the lonliest number!

Snapped by my dear wife this morning in her C300...she saw it coming up and pulled onto a side street to take a photo with her phone!

It was totally unplanned even though I was the last to fill the tank and reset the trip odometer

I got time to catch up though... I installed an odometer out of chassis #137 ('72 450 SL-C) (and snagged the bumpers and all metal grille star while I was at it)

That sure looks a lot like my odometer of my previous 300D I had. I took it on 2-20-04. It would have really been something if it happened on 2-22.

Coincedence maybe?

That is a sweet looking speedo. Does the needle actually go lower in reverse?

Also, props for finding a wife that was cool enough to think of something like taking a pic of that.

I guess it's a good thing that some OCD person made sure both of the screws in the middle of the face of his speedo are both facing the same direction.
Cuts down on coincidence........

BTW, was your old 300D an '85? On another pic I have of MY odo it has the same part # as yours does, and mines an '85.....

Nice goin', Marty. More often than not if I am in a conversation about cars and I ask a female how many miles are on their car, they do not have a clue. I suppose a lot of guys are oblivious as well. I guess I should do a controlled study before I make any generalizations.

Yes, mine was an 85 as well. Looking at the screw heads these are from two different cars. What a coincidence.
