Seat nets

I have a friend with a 1984 300SD and he needs the seat nets for the back. Does anybody know where those can be located?

Thanks

Did he have them and they are bad? If not maybe they never were in his car. They were an option. My Euro 500SEC coupe(SEC) doesn't have them and none are listed on the build sheet. I haven't missed them a bit.

I have rebuilt one set. I.E. replaced the shock chord in the top. That made them like new. I couldn't find real shock chord so I used the shock chord tent/tarp loops from Lowes. 1 loop per side. I reused the metal clips. They looked like new when done. $4.00 total outlay in cash and about 20 minutes I redid both sides. That included the time to take the seat backs off.

I've always thought those nets looked tacky and cheap.

I'd much prefer a leather pouch in back as opposed to the nets. Nowadays its tough to find a car without them completely stretched out and sagging, although I suppose these things naturally occur with age

If they are sagging tightening them up is a normal maintenance item. Search the archives.

With nets like these you'd expect to find fish in it.

black pouch and a black net. As I recall, I have one extra black pouch back and one extra black net back.

$20 plus shipping for either.

Agreed, unless you require originality, the (later) pouches are much more versitile and look nicer.
