Is the Shut of Valve at the IP rebuildable??

Can I replace just the leaky diaphragm on my 1983 300D. It works, fine, but I've got a pin hole causing oil to collect in the key portion of the shut off valve. I would prefer to rebuild it instead of replacing it for $140.

Thanks

Scott

Although I have never seen a discussion on it.
And if you searched and found nothing.

And because I am very much a fix-it-first kind of person.

I would say, IF you can get to the diaphragm and find the pinhole
it is certainley worth it to try silicone to seal it. Or tire patch stuff.

And last - where did you get that $140 price ?
Seems high, but I have never checked.

Good ones are common in the junkyards and would be worth about $20 shipped.

What car is that for? I replaced the valve in my SDL last year and I remember paying about $30 for the part...

Sorry,

I didn't see it was for a 617. The 603 part is cheaper!

I had a 617 IP with a working one that went to JohnHef. Maybe he will pull it for you. BUT I would go with a new one to make sure it lasts for another 20 years...
