Question 1993 W140 300sd questions

#1 I know this is not a diesel question but I fig I would ask anyway-When my wipers ae on any speed they work normal but the drivers side seems to go clung to park position could it be my combo relay ?? or the wiper transmission ? is there a adjustment for it ?

#2 The Transmission on the car shifts fine and runs great ! BUT at a sharp right turn at the top of a hill where the tranny seems to slip for a couple of seconds ? its the weirdest thing, but only 2 out of 5 times. I changed fluid and filter with the same results ! what next

#3 I am looking for the pn# for the trim ring that goes over the shifter. can anyone help ?

#4 How do you change the bulb in the gearshifter ?

#5 Since its a Rod bender!, the motor will need to be changed VERY Soon w/a 606 or a 3.0 603. 606 is first choise but alot of $.My turbo and head was just rebuild 1000 mi ago , so I need to find a rebuilt 3.0 603 shortblock from ? or can some one here do the job ??
thanks jef d

Is the engine consuming lots of oil if not then the engine is fine...changine to a om606 requires lots of money, first off those engine are kind of hard to find, they are worth at least 4-5k not to mention sensors computers and all that junk, if your planning to replace your engine, just buy a om603 that came out from a 86 87 300d or 300sdl

The transmission question might be better in its own thread, in fact several questions might to get the attention and answers from those who know.

The engine swap question is one that's been covered here before, kind of a popular question for 3.5L owners, if you were closer I'd probably be interested. Find an engine from an SDL or D as mentioned above, they happen. If you're not concerned about using a mid-life engine it shouldn't be too expensive, if you want a fresh engine, it's going to easily double the price of the project.

What about installing the retrofit cylinder liners and new stronger rods?

Liners from Mahle

AND you're going to have to have the Factory ReProduce the "Strengthened
Rods". They are All Gone[I.E Out of Production].
(Or maybe wait on the Classic center?)

Somewhere, one of the Scandinavian cousins has sourced Super Rods for the
450HP OM 602/603 Monsters.(Looked Much Much More Robust than the MB
updated rods.) 'Don't know the source though, sorry.

You might ask over here:http://mersuforum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14424

I called my dealership, they can get the sleeves still. About $100 each. Didn't ask about the connecting rods.

pistons are the shock

I stopped at a dealer a while ago to check a part #, so I had them look up rods and pistons. The rods were about $120 each - didn't check availability. The pistons were $420 each! Ouch.
