FSM manual source...

Where can I purchase a complete FSM for my vehicle? I have Hanes, but it's very skimpy. Another one I have covers the engine rebuild in gory details but not much else... I've searched the internet but still don't know which one would be the most complete...

The Mercedes Factory manuals are by far the best resource you can get for manuals. You can find CD versions on the Mercedes Classic Center. But the paper books are easier to use but more expensive. They can be found on Ebay pretty often.

The above is where I got mine from; later I find out on this Forum that I could have the same manual from the Mercedes Classic center for $19.99 + $7 shipping instead of the $53 (shipping+handeling) from Mercedes Manuals.
I am assuming it is for the 1985 Mercedes 300D Turbo you have.
Go to this site.
http://www.classictechlit.mbusa.com/MB/Default.asp?cookie%5Ftest=1

In the upper Left Hand corner you will see Search By Literature Type with a check mark to the side of it. Click on the check mark and select Service Manual from the list. Look for part # QL-6516-5610-02 CD-Rom 123 Service Manual ...

FSM on CD(s)

Your Hunterness,

I called the classic center (In California) inquiring about the (2) CD FSM set for
another member outside CONUS [for a '91 124.128 Chassis]
AND they (The CC) DO NOT SELL THEM,"Contact Dealer".Dealer wanted almost $150.00...

EVEN @ $150.00 USD the FSM is THE most useful TOOL in the Owner's Kit.

(BUT... I'll drive a Hyundai,before I give a Dealer 150 Dead Presidents for the
FSM CDs)

I recently went through this for my ride. Classic center did not have FSM CDs for 124,128 a month ago. I picked up one off ebay for $20.00 w/shipping(It is great, but lacks section 27) has already paid for itself, but I did buy the Data Manual from MB CC and it gives a lot of info not in the CDs, and vice versa.
