Cabin interior lights stay on why, why!!!!!!
:eek:Ok I have a 92 300SD and the interior light timer is not working. I check door switches and they work, light goes out when I turn the ignition ON. But when I turn off the car and get out, the light stay ON. Any body knows how to fix it or where the timer is located on this particular model. Please advice. Thank you

Isn't there a switch on the light itself?

WD40
My Taurus did this. The fix is to shoot a bit of WD-40 in the door latch. (forgive me for insinuating any comparison)

I had a similar problem some time ago with a 95 E300. I replaced the fuse for that circuit even though the fuse looked ok, and cleaned the contacts in the fuse panel before putting the new fuse in.
It's worth a try. |
I'm not familiar with the S-class electrics, but in the W124 models, the timer circuit is in the dome light fixture. Replacement of the fixture is indicated. As a temporary bypass, you can simply switch the light off, as dannym has said in post #2. The switch should have several positions; one is "off under all conditions."

Timer for the 126 Gen 1, 123, 124 (IIRC), and probably others is in the dome switch. It is probably the same for your vehicle. The module wasn't that much for a 126 Gen 1 and took only a couple of seconds to replace.
